The imperfection theme is a good one. I also like the composition. I do think it appears too washed out however, as if you tried to lighten the entire photo. IMHO :)

No its not lightened, it's a direct scan from a print. it was shot on a dull day with a telephoto lens at 200metres so it's soft. Its also reduced from 1500 width.

Oh Gary, it's not a problem, appreciate your comments. Actually this telephoto tamron lens Ive had for a long time and just dragged it out recently and took a test roll of which this is one. It was great when I first got it, but am rather disappointed with it now. It's incredibly heavy to use without a tripod {the above was without one}. The lens also does something weird to the light and most of the shots are very dark and soft, almost stopped down if you will and the result is rather dark compared to the real thing. So thinking of trading it in. I've just got a mini DV Panasonic camera and going to be experimenting with single frame shots soon. velvet:)

Photo is very good one as theme and Macro shot...good depth (the background flower is not Blur enough :S) but the textures of the petals seems worm in color and light :)

Nice Indeed:)

....nice. Flowers are always beautiful even if they have been under "attack" :)

Hey :) happy to see new work of yours here.
Great shot, this is a picture that me think... imperfect beauty is a really great theme... a beautiful thing can look much more reachable if it isn't perfect, i think real beauty can't be perfect, it wouldn't be "realistic".
really great shot...
